Staff Accountant

Robert Half Finance and Accounting is working with an established organization based in Fort Worth, Texas on a search for detail-oriented Staff Accountant. In this role, you will help maintain accurate financial records, contribute to close activities, and support reporting that guides business decisions. You will work closely with accounting and operational partners to strengthen compliance, improve processes, and ensure the reliability of financial information.

Responsibilities:

• Record and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries each month to keep the general ledger accurate and current.

• Perform detailed reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including cash, inventory, prepaid items, accrued liabilities, and fixed assets.

• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and resolving variances on time.

• Maintain organized reconciliation files and supporting records to ensure transactions are properly documented and easy to audit.

• Produce monthly financial statements, reporting packages, and management schedules that support operational and financial review.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis by compiling data, monitoring performance, and highlighting meaningful trends.

• Support external audit activities by preparing requested schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.

• Review financial results to identify cost-saving opportunities, process efficiencies, and areas where controls can be strengthened.

• Help uphold internal controls, support regulatory and tax-related reporting, and assist with ongoing enhancements within accounting systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a corporate or similar business environment.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and close processes.
• Experience assisting with annual audit preparation and responding to audit support requests.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis functions.
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, or comparable systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Compensation

$85,000.00-$105,000.00 Yearly
