Catastrophic PI Paralegal
Our client a major Philadelphia firm is currently seeking a Catastrophic PI Paralegal to support complex plaintiff-side injury matters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This position plays a central role in building high-exposure cases by partnering closely with attorneys through every phase of litigation, from initial case development to trial preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, confident working with detailed medical and damages evidence, and able to keep multiple active matters moving efficiently in a demanding legal environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day progression of catastrophic personal injury files from early-stage investigation through courtroom readiness.
• Partner with attorneys to advance case strategy by supporting discovery planning, deposition preparation, mediation activities, and trial execution.
• Examine large volumes of medical documentation, expert materials, and loss-related records, then distill key findings for case use.
• Create clear timelines, medical overviews, deposition recaps, and matter assessments to help shape litigation strategy.
• Serve as a liaison with clients, treatment providers, expert witnesses, and other external contacts involved in each case.
• Draft and finalize a range of litigation materials, including pleadings, discovery documents, motions, correspondence, and related filings.
• Track court deadlines, manage filing requirements, and maintain accurate calendars to keep matters on schedule.
• Assemble exhibits, demonstrative materials, evidence files, and trial binders to support hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings.
• Perform legal and factual research to assist with case development and strengthen attorney preparation.
• Maintain complete, current, and well-organized case records across all stages of litigation.
Qualifications:
• At least 3-5 years of paralegal experience in plaintiff personal injury, complex litigation, or a closely related practice area is preferred.
• Background supporting catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, or other high-value injury claims is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Pennsylvania civil litigation rules and court procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to review and analyze extensive medical records with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience assisting matters through discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with attorneys, clients, and third parties.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex cases effectively in a fast-paced legal setting.
• Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Compensation
