Business Development Manager
Responsibilities:
• Lead the entire sales process, from initial outreach and qualification through signed agreement and successful first production launch.
• Build and develop a pipeline of new business opportunities using outbound prospecting, relationship-building, and market outreach strategies.
• Conduct consultative discovery conversations to understand client goals, production needs, timelines, packaging expectations, and buying criteria.
• Collaborate with internal production partners to assess project viability and prepare pricing that supports both client needs and business margins.
• Negotiate commercial terms and finalize contracts with a focus on sustainable profitability and long-term partnership value.
• Guide newly signed customers through onboarding activities, ensuring a smooth transition into production and a positive first-run experience.
• Identify growth opportunities within active accounts by expanding product lines, increasing volumes, and strengthening customer relationships over time.
• Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, forecast updates, and sales activity reporting for regular leadership reviews.
• Represent the company during customer meetings, facility visits, and industry events, with regional travel as needed.
Qualifications:
• 3–7+ years of B2B sales experience with ownership of quota and direct responsibility for closing new business.• Demonstrated success creating pipeline independently and consistently meeting or surpassing revenue targets.
• Experience in food and beverage, packaging, ingredients, contract manufacturing, co-packing, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage consultative sales discussions that involve technical considerations, pricing strategy, and margin awareness.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and contemporary outbound sales tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and similar prospecting technologies.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills with the ability to build trust across stakeholder groups.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally on a regular basis, with occasional broader travel as needed.
• Existing connections with beverage brands, founders, procurement teams, or operations leaders are a plus.
Compensation
