Procurement Expeditor
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the progress of active purchase orders from release through receipt to help ensure on-time fulfillment.
• Communicate routinely with vendors to confirm production status, shipping plans, and expected delivery dates.
• Investigate delays, shortages, or transportation issues and take prompt action to reduce disruption to operations.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and provide timely updates to internal teams regarding order status and schedule changes.
• Coordinate with procurement, operations, engineering, and other stakeholders to confirm materials meet required specifications and quality expectations.
• Monitor supplier commitments against agreed milestones and escalate risks when delivery performance may impact project or production needs.
• Support purchasing activities by reviewing order details, tracking commitments, and helping improve visibility across the supply chain.
Qualifications:
• Experience supporting procurement, expediting, purchasing, or supply chain activities in a business environment.• Working knowledge of purchase orders, buying processes, and core procurement functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for managing supplier interactions and internal status reporting.
• Proven ability to organize multiple priorities, follow detailed records, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving setting.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify delivery risks and help drive timely resolution.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and familiarity with supply chain or ERP platforms such as Oracle.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional college coursework or a degree in a related field is a plus.
• Exposure to corporate procurement practices and contract-related processes, including supplier coordination and negotiations, is preferred.
