Certified Credentials Coordinator
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate credentialing activities for physicians and allied health professionals, including new appointments, renewals, privilege processing, and related evaluations.
• Gather, review, and organize documentation needed for credentialing files, ensuring records are complete, current, and ready for timely submission.
• Conduct primary source verification and follow up on outstanding items to maintain accurate and compliant practitioner files.
• Support provider onboarding by arranging required access, orientation steps, training activities, and identification badging.
• Maintain and update medical staff databases and credentialing records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Apply medical staff bylaws, internal policies, and regulatory standards when processing credentialing and privileging activities.
• Protect sensitive practitioner information by handling all records and communications with strict confidentiality.
• Assist with additional medical staff services and administrative duties as needed to support department operations.
Qualifications:
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) credential is required.• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; an associate degree or comparable related education is also preferred.
• At least two years of experience in medical staff services, credentialing, or a closely related healthcare setting is preferred.
• Working knowledge of provider credentialing, primary source verification, privileging, and file maintenance processes.
• Familiarity with medical staff bylaws, hospital policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage databases, documentation, and appointment-related workflows with strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to support onboarding, training coordination, and provider-facing administrative processes.
• Commitment to workplace health and compliance requirements, including vaccination policies and employment eligibility verification where applicable.
Compensation
