Patient Financial Access Facilitator
Robert Half is seeking a Patient Access Facilitator for a contract opportunity with a respected healthcare organization in the Trumbull, Connecticut area. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional with strong administrative and patient service skills who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Patient Access Facilitator will serve as a key point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience while supporting registration, scheduling, and insurance verification activities.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Register patients and accurately enter demographic, insurance, and financial information into the electronic medical record system.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations when required, and ensure accurate coverage information.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Collect copays, balances, and required documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, registration, and general information.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness prior to appointments.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient patient flow and service delivery.
- Resolve patient concerns or registration-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in patient registration, patient access, medical reception, scheduling, or healthcare administration preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and healthcare registration processes is a plus.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
