Accounts Receivable Analyst
The Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances, accurate cash application, and the integrity of accounts receivable records. This role partners with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues, reduce aging balances, and support the organization's cash flow objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accounts receivable balances and aging reports.
- Research, analyze, and resolve customer billing discrepancies and payment issues.
- Perform collection activities through phone, email, and customer correspondence.
- Apply cash receipts and reconcile customer accounts.
- Prepare AR reports, collection metrics, and aging analyses for management.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve account concerns.
- Identify delinquent accounts and recommend appropriate collection actions.
- Support month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance collection effectiveness and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounts receivable, collections, or accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of AR processes, cash application, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with high-volume accounts receivable environments.
- Knowledge of deduction management and dispute resolution.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
- Experience creating financial and operational reports to support collections strategy.
Compensation
