Description
The Department of Classics at Princeton University announces a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Roman History, starting in Fall 2027. Applications are welcome from candidates in any area of historical research related to the Roman world to 300 CE. We seek to identify a candidate who has an excellent track record or demonstrates exceptional promise as a scholar and teacher, whose interests complement those already represented among departmental faculty, and who can help us attract and retain a diverse student body. The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Roman History, as well as Latin at all levels, and a graduate course in theory and methods. Engagement with the interdepartmental Program in the Ancient World is expected.
