Job Description:
Position Overview: Operations Manager
The Operations Manager provides leadership and direction for all warehouse, customer service, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure products are handled safely, inventory is maintained accurately, and customer orders are delivered efficiently and on time. This role is responsible for developing and coaching warehouse and customer service personnel, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, optimizing inventory accuracy and warehouse processes, negotiating freight rates, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate supervisory personnel to achieve departmental and company objectives.
- Plan work assignments and allocate resources to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Train and develop employees as needed to maintain a skilled, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
- Oversee performance of basic human resource functions, including employee coaching, performance management, and policy compliance.
- Lead and manage the warehouse safety program by ensuring successful safety inspections and audits and completion of all required monthly safety training.
- Oversee and manage company customer service performance and operating metrics.
- Oversee customer order entry and billing processes to ensure timely and accurate customer service.
- Provide oversight of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient financial operations.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer pricing records within the company's ERP system.
- Evaluate and maintain appropriate inventory levels using the company's automated inventory management systems.
- Oversee the scheduling and routing of customer deliveries using established routes and company delivery vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold employees accountable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and transportation operations.
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems and ERP software.
- Basic knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA regulations and general workplace safety requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE:
Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or operations management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform work in both an office and warehouse environment. Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional stooping, bending, climbing, and lifting or carrying materials or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
