The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a Part-Time Instructor to teach Introduction to Performance, an undergraduate course for both theatre majors and non-majors.

This introductory course explores acting and performance through scene study, improvisation, ensemble-building, movement, voice, and text analysis. Students develop foundational performance skills while building creativity, collaboration, and confidence in a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Qualifications MFA in Acting or Theatre Pedagogy in Performance, or equivalent professional experience. Experience teaching acting and/or performance at the collegiate or conservatory level. A commitment to student-centered, inclusive pedagogy. Professional experience in theatre or a related performance discipline. Responsibilities include planning and teaching course sessions, evaluating student work, providing timely feedback, communicating regularly with students, and submitting grades in accordance with university policies.
