FQHC Revenue Cycle Director

Richmond, VA 23233, US Remote Contract
Compensation: $95 to $110 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced Revenue Cycle Director to oversee and strengthen central business office operations. This contract position with permanent potential will guide revenue cycle performance across billing, collections, cash application, refunds, and month-end activity while promoting operational excellence and strong financial outcomes. The ideal candidate brings leadership expertise in a billing company revenue cycle management, a sharp analytical approach, and the ability to build an accountable, high-performing team. This is a remote work opportunity working EST.


Responsibilities:

• Direct day-to-day revenue cycle operations across billing, collections, payment posting, refunds, and closing activities to support accurate and timely reimbursement.

• Evaluate reporting and performance data to identify workflow gaps, address operational barriers, and improve overall financial results.

• Drive process enhancements that increase cash flow, reduce outstanding receivables, strengthen claim accuracy, and lower denial rates.

• Lead, coach, and develop department staff while creating clear expectations, balanced workloads, and a collaborative team culture focused on results.

• Monitor productivity measures and staffing needs to align resources with service demands and departmental goals.

• Communicate payer and industry updates that affect reimbursement practices and ensure internal teams and clients understand required changes.

• Provide guidance on complex account resolution matters, including appropriate handling of uncollectible claims and revenue cycle cleanup activities.

• Review reimbursement methodologies and investigate payer-related issues to improve performance and support effective issue resolution.

• Assess budget performance, revenue trends, and financial projections, then share actionable insights with leadership to support planning and growth.

• Ensure departmental practices remain aligned with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and current revenue cycle standards.


Qualifications:

• Experience work FQHC billing required

• Advance E Clinical Works expertise

• Proven leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including oversight of billing, collections, and payment posting functions.

• Strong background in medical billing and healthcare billing within complex provider environments.

• Working knowledge of ambulatory surgery revenue cycle workflows and reimbursement considerations.

• Ability to analyze operational reports, interpret financial metrics, and translate findings into process improvements.

• Familiarity with governmental and commercial payer methodologies, denials, and claims resolution practices.

• Experience managing teams, setting performance expectations, and supporting employee development in a fast-paced setting.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain revenue cycle issues and updates to both internal stakeholders and clients.


Compensation

$95.00-$110.00 Hourly
