Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting processes. This role is based in Bergen County, New Jersey, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial integrity and reporting of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

• Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with accounting standards.

• Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

• Perform bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of cash flow records.

• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.

• Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and compliance requirements.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and company policies.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to entry level accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close and general ledger maintenance.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation processes and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Compensation

$85,000.00-$90,000.00 Yearly
