Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent position. This role supports core corporate accounting activities with a focus on payables, reconciliations, reporting, and periodic close support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing daily financial tasks while contributing to accurate month-end and year-end results.

Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounts payable activities, including coding invoices and entering transactions accurately and on time.
• Support monthly and annual close processes by preparing journal entries and assisting with corporate accounting deliverables.
• Complete account reconciliations, maintain supporting schedules, and investigate variances to ensure accurate financial records.
• Review bank activity, reconcile cash transactions on a weekly basis, and perform bank reconciliations for assigned accounts.
• Prepare and submit sales and use tax filings as needed, ensuring compliance with applicable reporting requirements.
• Calculate customer rebates and maintain related documentation to support proper accounting treatment.
• Balance and reconcile intercompany activity across entities and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports for leadership and provide additional accounting support as requested.
• Handle incoming mail and monitor office supply levels to help maintain smooth daily operations.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with accounts payable processing, including invoice coding and data entry.
• Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and resolving cash-related discrepancies.
• Experience preparing cash reconciliations and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Working knowledge of sales and use tax return preparation and filing.
• Understanding of core accounting principles, journal entries, and account reconciliation practices.
• Ability to support month-end and year-end close activities in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation

$30.00-$35.00 Hourly
