Interim Senior Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Lead key components of the monthly and year-end close process, including preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and maintaining balance sheet integrity across multiple entities.
• Manage general ledger activities with a high level of accuracy, ensuring financial records are complete, properly supported, and aligned with reporting deadlines.
• Perform detailed account, bank, and payroll reconciliations while resolving variances across legal entities and currencies.
• Support external audit activities by assembling workpapers, organizing documentation, and responding promptly to auditor inquiries.
• Contribute to accounting operations for international subsidiaries, helping ensure consistency in reporting across a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
• Analyze large financial data sets in Excel to identify trends, explain fluctuations, and improve the quality of close and reporting outputs.
• Assist with statutory and tax-related accounting support for cross-border operations, including coordination with global finance stakeholders where needed.
• Step into day-to-day accounting priorities with minimal training, using NetSuite expertise to support critical deadlines and operational continuity.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of accounting experience in senior-level or comparable roles with strong ownership of close-related activities.• Demonstrated success managing month-end close tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet account support.
• Hands-on NetSuite experience with the ability to work independently in a live accounting environment.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, variance analysis, reconciliations, and management of large data volumes.
• Experience supporting interim and annual external audits under U.S. GAAP environments.
• Background in multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, including work involving international operations or subsidiaries.
• Knowledge of payroll accounting, including reconciliations and payroll-related journal entries across multiple entities.
• Exposure to Canadian tax, statutory reporting, or other international compliance requirements is a plus.
