Dispatcher

We are looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join our team in a contract capacity. This position is ideal for someone who can balance driver communication, customer support, and delivery coordination in a fast-paced logistics environment. The role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to keep daily operations moving efficiently while maintaining confidentiality and service quality.

Responsibilities:
• Manage incoming calls from drivers and customers, responding promptly and resolving delivery-related questions in a timely manner.
• Evaluate daily shipment schedules using dispatch technology to confirm load status, timing, and coverage needs.
• Determine the most suitable vehicle and assign the appropriate driver for each delivery based on route demands and operational priorities.
• Send pickup and delivery instructions to drivers through dispatch systems and maintain accurate communication throughout the delivery process.
• Partner with customer service teams to improve route utilization, driver productivity, and overall delivery performance.
• Monitor active deliveries and make informed decisions to address scheduling changes or service issues as they arise.
• Safeguard confidential business information such as pricing details, pay data, purchase records, and customer account limits.
• Maintain a detail-oriented and courteous presence while representing the organization in all driver and customer interactions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or a related transportation operations role.
• Proven ability to manage driver communication and customer inquiries in a high-volume service environment.
• Experience working with computer-aided dispatch systems and other logistics software platforms.
• Strong background in coordinating deliveries, assigning loads, and selecting appropriate equipment for transportation needs.
• Solid customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally.
• Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail when handling time-sensitive delivery operations.
• Ability to protect sensitive operational and financial information with a high level of discretion.

Compensation

$24.00-$24.00 Hourly
