Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Reconcile custodian and broker activity against internal accounting records each day, including cash activity across multiple accounts and funds.
• Enter trade information into the portfolio management platform and verify accuracy of transaction-related records.
• Prepare and review accounting entries tied to trading activity, interest earnings, and fee accruals.
• Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close by assembling trial balances, schedules, and other supporting documentation.
• Assist with the settlement of bank loan transactions by reviewing documentation, tracking closing requirements, and coordinating materials for authorization.
• Help produce client statements and support the preparation of internal, client, and regulatory reporting packages.
• Monitor cash movements, settlement activity, and funding needs to support effective cash management.
• Provide audit support by compiling requested schedules, reconciliations, and backup documentation for external reviewers.
• Handle expense-related accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and record maintenance.
• Identify inconsistencies in financial records, resolve issues promptly, and contribute to automation and process enhancement efforts for recurring reports and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within financial services, investment management, or a similar environment.
• Working knowledge of core accounting concepts, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and period-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use pivot tables, lookup functions, and basic financial models.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize records and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with fixed income products or investment-related accounting is preferred.
• Familiarity with portfolio accounting or reporting tools such as Eze, Bloomberg, or QuickBooks is a plus.
Compensation
