VP/Director of Finance

We are looking for an experienced finance leader to provide steady operational oversight and hands-on financial management for a growing organization in Northern Kentucky. This Contract position is designed to bring consistency across core accounting and reporting activities while supporting a business with increasing complexity, multiple entities, and significant expansion plans. The role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, make sound decisions independently, and strengthen the financial foundation needed to support continued growth.


Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process and maintain accurate, timely financial records across day-to-day accounting activities.

• Oversee accounts payable, payroll review, banking activity, and cash management to ensure reliable financial operations.

• Prepare financial materials for leadership and board review, translating results into clear and actionable reporting.

• Support audit readiness by organizing documentation, coordinating requests, and reinforcing compliance-focused accounting practices.

• Manage financial operations across multiple related entities within a shared-services environment.

• Contribute to forecasting, budget planning, and cash flow analysis to help leadership make informed operational decisions.

• Provide oversight for grant-related accounting, restricted funds, endowments, and investment reserves while maintaining strong financial controls.

• Assist with finance process improvements and support key implementation projects, including upcoming financial and association management systems as needed.


Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading finance or accounting operations in a senior-level role such as Director of Finance, VP of Finance, or similar.
• Strong background in month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and resolve issues proactively.
• Experience supporting audits, maintaining compliance, and managing complex accounting environments with multiple funding sources.
• Knowledge of grant accounting, treasury activities, or capital planning is strongly preferred.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization with evolving financial needs.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to executive leadership and board stakeholders.
