AP/AR Specialist

We are looking for an AP/AR Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations for an organization in Tampa, Florida. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate payables and receivables activity, with an emphasis on accounts payable, payment application, billing support, and lien-related documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, comfort handling a steady transaction volume, and the ability to keep financial records organized and up to date.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring payment records are complete and properly coded.

• Apply incoming customer payments to the correct accounts within the accounting system and maintain precise posting records.

• Assist with customer billing activities.

• Prepare and support bank deposit activity as needed while ensuring all received funds are documented correctly.

• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue balances when necessary to support healthy account status.

• Maintain lien release documentation and coordinate related processing to help keep project payment records current.

• Review account activity for discrepancies and resolve routine issues by updating records and communicating with internal stakeholders.

• Support additional payment processing tasks as needed, including occasional handling of non-check payment methods.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a related accounting support role.

• Practical experience with payment posting, cash handling, and maintaining accurate financial transaction records.

• Working knowledge of lien documentation and related payment support activities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a deadline-driven setting.

• Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail when handling invoices, payments, and account updates.

• Proficiency with accounting software and confidence learning job-related financial systems.

Compensation

$52,000.00-$60,320.00 Yearly
