Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Lead and support month-end closing activities, including preparing entries, completing reconciliations, and assembling accurate financial reports.
• Review accounting transactions and supporting work prepared by team members to help ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with company standards.
• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple entities and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries, organizing documentation, and resolving account variances.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages by reconciling balance sheet accounts and analyzing expenses, credit card activity, and intercompany balances.
• Partner with the accounting team on day-to-day functions such as close support, balance sheet reconciliations, variance review, and financial reporting deliverables.
• Contribute to the development and upkeep of accounting policies, procedures, and practices that support accurate financial records.
• Monitor internal controls and established processes to help safeguard assets and promote compliance with company policies.
• Assist with annual audit activities, including financial statement audit support, 401(k) audit preparation, and sales and use tax filings on a quarterly and annual basis.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or comparable hands-on experience in a related accounting role.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and general ledger activities.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and business software, including QuickBooks, payroll platforms, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and manage bank reconciliations with accuracy.
• Comfortable interpreting written and verbal instructions and resolving issues that involve multiple variables within established processes.
• Solid mathematical and analytical skills, including the ability to work with percentages, proportions, interest, and other financial calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret business and regulatory materials, prepare clear reports and correspondence, and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
