Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting and tax functions for a service-focused organization. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling day-to-day ledger activity while also assisting with corporate and sales tax obligations. The role requires accuracy, sound judgment, and the ability to keep financial records organized and compliant.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support month-end accuracy.
• Assist with corporate tax activities, including the preparation of supporting schedules and required filings.
• Manage sales tax processes by reviewing transactions, calculating obligations, and helping ensure timely submissions.
• Contribute to the preparation of corporate tax returns by organizing documentation and validating financial data.
• Review accounting records for completeness and consistency while helping strengthen reporting accuracy.
• Support ongoing financial operations by maintaining well-documented records and responding to accounting inquiries as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with corporate tax concepts and related financial documentation.
• Hands-on experience supporting sales tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Ability to assist with corporate tax return preparation and related schedules.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage accuracy across multiple accounting tasks.
• Proficiency in standard accounting practices and financial record maintenance.

Compensation

$27.00-$35.00 Hourly
