Head of Finance
We are looking for a strategic finance leader to guide financial reporting, planning, and performance management for our organization in Wilmington, North Carolina. This role works closely with senior leadership to strengthen decision-making through accurate analysis, disciplined budgeting, and clear reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong command of financial operations, compliance, and team leadership while driving continuous improvement across core finance processes.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the annual budget cycle, rolling forecasts, and longer-term financial plans to support business priorities and operational goals.
• Produce and interpret monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, highlighting key results, risks, and opportunities for leadership review.
• Evaluate financial performance through trend analysis and variance reporting, and recommend actions to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Oversee general ledger accuracy, balance sheet reconciliations, and the timely completion of month-end and year-end close activities.
• Manage cash position reporting and contribute to strategies that strengthen liquidity and working capital performance.
• Maintain adherence to accounting guidance, corporate policies, and internal control standards across finance activities.
• Collaborate with department leaders to build practical budgets, review spending patterns, and support responsible resource allocation.
• Coordinate audit support, tax-related documentation, and required external financial reporting deliverables.
• Lead, coach, and develop finance team members while promoting accountability and high-quality execution.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a closely related discipline.• At least five years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including prior leadership or team oversight responsibilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis.
• Strong capability in financial reporting, including annual reporting and SEC-related reporting concepts.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience working with enterprise financial systems.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance expectations, and standard accounting practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly.
Compensation
