Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead AI Engineer to drive the strategy, design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale artificial intelligence solutions. Based in Los Angeles, California, this role will partner closely with business leaders, product teams, and engineering stakeholders to deliver AI-powered applications that create measurable business impact. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with leadership experience and a passion for bringing innovative AI solutions from concept to production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, development, and deployment of scalable AI applications and intelligent workflow solutions.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI can improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer experiences.
  • Design and implement enterprise-grade AI systems with a focus on reliability, security, scalability, and performance.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices guidance to engineering teams working on AI initiatives.
  • Develop integrations between AI platforms, cloud services, APIs, and enterprise business systems.
  • Establish standards for model evaluation, monitoring, governance, observability, and cost optimization.
  • Build and optimize AI-powered applications utilizing modern language models, retrieval systems, and agent-based architectures.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps, architecture reviews, documentation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Promote AI-assisted engineering practices that improve software quality, efficiency, and delivery speed.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including recent experience leading enterprise AI initiatives.
  • Expert-level Python development experience with modern AI and machine learning frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, model evaluation, fine-tuning concepts, and agent-based AI systems.
  • Experience building and deploying production-ready AI applications at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures and AI platforms within public cloud environments.
  • Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, and data platforms.
  • Strong background in software engineering, distributed systems, security, and system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience developing multi-agent AI systems and workflow orchestration solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI observability, monitoring, and evaluation platforms.
  • Experience implementing AI governance, compliance, privacy, and security controls.
  • Background supporting enterprise digital commerce, retail, or consumer-focused organizations.
  • Experience mentoring engineering teams and building AI adoption programs across an organization.
  • Passion for software craftsmanship, testing, maintainability, and continuous improvement.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $225,000 - $240,000 annually
