Buyer
- Purchase raw materials, components, supplies, and services based on business needs.
- Review purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts with suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve supply issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
- Track open purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery.
- Analyze spending trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations, production, inventory, and accounting teams.
- Evaluate supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
- Source and qualify new suppliers to reduce risk and improve competitiveness.
- Assist with forecasting and demand planning initiatives.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and purchasing-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier data.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing agreements.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes and inventory management principles.
- Experience issuing and managing purchase orders.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
- Ability to analyze purchasing trends and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Strong communication and vendor management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial purchasing experience.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and demand planning concepts.
- Experience working with inventory forecasting and production schedules.
- APICS, CPSM, or other purchasing/supply chain certifications.
- Experience with contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
