Junior Network Administration Specialist

Leidos is currently seeking Junior Network Administration Specialist to work in our Bowie, MD office.
The candidate will be part of an IT and engineering team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, configuration management, monitoring, and trouble shooting of an expanding infrastructure supporting a multi-platform, multi-site, high availability, secure, real-time wide-area-network (WAN). The work to be performed will require that the candidate be able to work comfortably at several levels of support from resolving networks problems, through the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network equipment, software, and services from commercial vendors. Provide updates to management for strategic planning purposes.
Projects and tasks will be assigned and at times self-initiated requiring independent judgement in balancing of resources, schedules, work hours, as well as travel to regional sites to obtain results. Work will require ability to carry and move network equipment, PC workstations and peripherals, and ancillary equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Day to day operational support of the network, including monitoring infrastructure operations and performance, identifying potential problems, and resolving network incidents.
- Infrastructure integration and detailed follow-through from high-level design plans and objectives, through acquisition and installation.
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking infrastructure physical and logical configuration.
- Troubleshooting network systems when necessary and coordinating improvements to the network
- Providing status accounting and change management of infrastructure.
- Interfacing and managing vendor interactions for hardware and services provided.
- Providing “help desk” support to interact with users to help resolve problems with infrastructure operation, performance, or maintenance.
- Developing and documenting utility programs or scripts to facilitate infrastructure monitoring.
- Preparing briefings, presentations and documentation for management or customers.
- Travel to field sites to support ISP circuit activation and troubleshooting.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Active DoD Secret clearance. (U.S. Citizenship)
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Bowie Maryland.
You should have demonstrable skills in the following:
- Implementing and managing networked classified computer systems in compliance with DoD security guidelines.
- Network LAN/WAN/VLAN design and implementation.
- TCP/IP based services (DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS), IPSec protocols, and IP addressing and routing.
- Firewall configuration and security policies involving objects, rules, NATs, etc.
- PIXIE boot configuration and administration.
- Key administration and distribution for encryption devices (KGs)
- Cisco network router and switch configuration and management.
- Network and server monitoring using Wireshark.
- Utility program development using BASH scripts.
- Documentation and presentation of technical material.
- DOD STIGS
- IOS patch management
- Automating configuration management and auditing of networks.
- Must have Security+ CE, Network+ CE, and/or CCNA certifications

Pay Range:
Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
