Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support billing and collections activities. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage receivables with accuracy, communicate effectively with customers, and help maintain healthy cash flow. The role will focus on invoicing, payment application, account review, and timely follow-up on outstanding balances while supporting month-end and audit-related needs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute customer invoices accurately and on schedule for assigned accounts.

• Apply incoming payments to the appropriate customer accounts and verify that cash activity is recorded correctly.

• Review accounts receivable balances regularly, reconcile ledger activity, and research variances to resolve discrepancies.

• Contact customers regarding past-due balances, issue payment reminders, and carry out commercial collection efforts to improve payment timeliness.

• Respond to customer questions related to billing, payments, and account status in a thorough and timely manner.

• Produce aging reports and monitor outstanding receivables to highlight risks and support collection priorities.

• Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support audits and internal accounting requirements.

• Assist with month-end close tasks and provide additional administrative support related to accounts receivable operations as needed

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a closely related accounting support role.
• Working knowledge of cash applications, account reconciliation, and daily cash activity processing.
• Experience handling commercial collections and following up on overdue customer accounts.
• Ability to prepare accurate invoices and review billing details with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable communicating with customers to resolve payment or account questions professionally.
• Proficiency in preparing receivables reports, including aging analysis and account status updates.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Compensation

$22.80-$26.40 Hourly
