Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee capital addition records to ensure compliance with accounting standards and documentation requirements.
• Apply capitalization guidelines consistently, validating that eligible costs are properly supported and recorded.
• Review completed projects each month and reclassify lower-value unitized items in accordance with established thresholds.
• Monitor capital expenditures tied to business growth initiatives and acquisitions, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications to support accurate monthly financial reporting.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts for assigned entities, investigating and resolving variances promptly.
• Partner with accounting, engineering, operations, and local management teams to align project cost details and asset records.
• Support audit readiness by maintaining organized schedules, documentation, and financial support for review.
• Contribute to budgeting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial reporting to assist leadership with planning and decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve capital accounting processes and assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
• Strong experience with month-end close and preparation of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.• Background in asset accounting, including capital additions, asset allocation, and asset inventory management.
• Working knowledge of capitalization policies, financial controls, and audit support documentation.
• Ability to analyze financial results, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to track project costs and capital spending.
• Proficiency in preparing budget support, variance analysis, and other financial reporting deliverables.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven accounting environment.
