Patient Support Associate
Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients and visitors, provide clear information about services, and help answer general questions related to care and clinic operations.
• Coordinate check-in and check-out activities, arrange return visits, and ensure patient files and required documentation are prepared accurately.
• Enter and maintain patient information within the electronic records system while keeping documentation complete, organized, and current.
• Receive copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service, issue receipts, and record transactions correctly.
• Reconcile daily cash and payment activity against batch totals and reporting records to support accurate financial tracking.
• Work with clinical and administrative departments to route records appropriately and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with organizational guidelines.
• Assist with requested reports and other administrative projects that support clinic performance and patient service goals.
• Maintain a clean, orderly front office environment and report malfunctioning equipment or operational issues promptly.
• Build positive working relationships with patients, student interns, faculty, and colleagues through clear, respectful, and inclusive communication.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in patient registration, medical front office support, or a similar clinical administrative role.• Associate degree preferred, or a high school diploma/equivalent combined with substantial related work experience.
• Background in a chiropractic clinic, medical office, business office, or comparable healthcare setting is strongly valued.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence using electronic health records and other computer-based administrative systems.
• Ability to manage a multi-line phone system while assisting patients and coordinating daily front-desk activity.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, stay organized, and respond effectively to patient needs.
• Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Understanding of confidentiality expectations, office procedures, and policies commonly used in healthcare or university-affiliated environments.
Compensation
