Human Resources (HR) Generalist
Our client, a high-performing organization located in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist / HR Business Partner to join their team. This role is ideal for a proactive, solutions-oriented HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable handling both strategic and routine HR responsibilities, and has a strong foundation in employee relations and compliance.
The ideal candidate is a high performer who can effectively support a workforce of approximately 350 employees across multiple locations and bring strong business partnership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to the role.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day HR support to leaders and employees across multiple locations
Manage and resolve employee relations issues with professionalism and sound judgment
Administer and support leave programs, including FMLA
Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and labor regulations
Partner with leadership on HR initiatives, employee support, and organizational needs
Assist with HR reporting, documentation, audits, and process improvement efforts
Support employee engagement initiatives, training coordination, and other HR programs
Handle a mix of strategic and routine HR tasks with accuracy and urgency
Travel quarterly to support 5 multi-state locations, including occasional 2-night overnight travel and possible last-minute travel when needed
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience, including:
Employee Relations
FMLA administration
Supporting 250+ employees and/or multiple locations
Experience supporting approximately 350 employees
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, or a related field
OR
HR certificate with a minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience
Strong knowledge of multi-state employment labor laws
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables is a plus
Strong initiative with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships and contribute as an engaged team member
Comfortable with routine tasks while maintaining a high level of performance
Ability to travel as needed on a quarterly basis
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday
Experience supporting multi-site, healthcare, nonprofit, manufacturing, professional services, or other fast-paced business environments
Background in employee engagement programs, compliance audits, training coordination, or HR process improvement
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR reporting tools
Compensation
