Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records for the organization. This role is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and focuses on delivering timely close activities, strengthening ledger integrity, and ensuring reconciliations are completed with precision. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording, analyzing, and validating financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and clear explanations of account activity.
• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, identifying variances, and following through on corrective actions.
• Review financial data for consistency and accuracy while supporting compliance with internal accounting policies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information needed for close processes and balance sheet analysis.
• Assist with process improvements related to accounting workflows and reporting efficiency as needed.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting work with responsibility for monthly close activities.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.
• Proven ability to perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve variances effectively.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping best practices.
• Ability to organize competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Compensation

$90,000.00-$110,000.00 Yearly
