Product Owner
We are looking for a Product Owner to join our digital product team in Southern California, supporting customer-facing web, mobile, and service platforms for a leading financial services environment. This Long-term Contract position is onsite four days per week and offers the opportunity to guide product delivery from concept through launch while helping create a dependable, high-quality customer experience. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, working closely with business and technology partners to define priorities, validate solutions, and support day-to-day platform performance.
Responsibilities:
• Lead product activities across web, mobile, and service platforms, serving as a primary point of ownership for priorities, backlog direction, and delivery outcomes.
• Translate business needs into well-defined user stories, detailed acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements for development and testing teams.
• Partner with stakeholders across customer experience, marketing, training, engineering, compliance, legal, and operations to shape solutions and move initiatives forward.
• Organize and facilitate backlog refinement, planning discussions, status updates, and process documentation to keep teams aligned on scope and progress.
• Develop and execute user acceptance testing plans, document results, coordinate issue triage, and support release readiness through launch and warranty periods.
• Monitor operational performance against service expectations, including payment-related processes, batch activities, maintenance events, vendor updates, and platform releases.
• Prepare communications, demonstrations, and training support materials for internal teams, field users, and other key stakeholders impacted by new capabilities.
• Evaluate metrics, reporting, and business data to inform recommendations, support business cases, and identify opportunities to improve product performance.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS degree
• Agile certification for Product Owner or Scrum Master (PREFER SAFe Agile)
• Salesforce certifications (PREFERRED). Else ability to gain Salesforce admin certification by year 1
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
• 3-5 years of product management, product development or product operations experience with customer facing top brand (Fortune 500) digital product
• 3-5 years of leadership experience, managing mixed teams: business / IT, internal / external, onshore / nearshore / offshore
• 1-2 years of roadmap and business planning experience. Experience driving procurement process from identification of options, evaluations and RFI/RFP selection of tools and vendors
• 2+ years of Salesforce experience
• 5+ years of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression script writing and hands-on testing
• 1-2 years of direct leadership experience, managing associates (PREFERRED)
• 2 years of payments, financial services or captive finance industry experience
• Mobile app experience (PREFERRED)
