Accounting Assistant
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a team in Ohio. This position is ideal for a candidate who can manage core accounting functions with accuracy and consistency across payables, receivables, and payroll. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a steady workflow while helping maintain organized financial records and timely processing.
Responsibilities:
• Handle invoice review, coding, and payment processing to keep accounts payable activities accurate and on schedule.
• Manage customer billing, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable operations.
• Process payroll with careful attention to deadlines, employee records, and applicable reporting requirements.
• Administer lien waiver documentation and maintain organized records to support compliance and project-related accounting needs.
• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial data remains complete and reliable.
• Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks Online and update payroll information within Foundation Software as needed.
• Assist with union payroll activities when required, including verifying pay details and supporting related documentation.
• Provide additional accounting support as business needs arise, contributing to smooth daily financial operations.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in an accounting support or accounting assistant role.• Hands-on background in both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Experience processing full-cycle payroll, with union payroll knowledge considered an advantage.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, including maintaining accurate financial entries and records.
• Familiarity with Foundation Software for payroll administration.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and resolve variances efficiently.
• Strong invoice coding skills and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Compensation
