Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced accounting specialist to support portfolio accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting within a leading investment advisory environment. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage detailed reporting cycles while improving controls and processes. The role will partner across finance and business teams to deliver accurate month-end and quarter-end results, support compliance needs, and contribute to broader accounting initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting activities tied to investment-related balances, ensuring reconciliations and reporting outputs are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial entries, including intercompany eliminations, to support internal and external reporting requirements.
• Monitor accounts receivable and general ledger activity to confirm balances are properly recorded, supported, and controlled.
• Investigate reconciliation differences and operational posting issues, then resolve them in alignment with corporate accounting standards and control expectations.
• Provide guidance to entry-level accounting staff and serve as a resource for critical accounting tasks such as journal entry support, wire-related activities, and reconciliation approvals.
• Partner with tax, legal, compliance, and other stakeholders to evaluate accounting implications related to business updates, product activity, and system changes, including testing support when needed.
• Drive process enhancements that strengthen consistency, increase efficiency, and improve documentation across accounting workflows.
• Lead cross-functional projects involving accounting standards, reporting templates, and broader enterprise initiatives affecting controllership operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, including work within financial services, investment products, hedge funds, or private equity environments.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability with careful attention to detail and a solid grasp of end-to-end accounting processes and controls.
• Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audit, tax, compliance, or regulatory reporting needs.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including practical use of pivot tables, and comfort working with automated tools or large reporting templates.
• Familiarity with enterprise accounting systems and the ability to assess accounting impacts across multiple products, functions, and business lines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to advise business partners and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Compensation

$60.00-$85.00 Hourly
