Event Manager

Compensation: $31.66 to $36.66 Hourly

We are looking for an Event Manager to support the planning and delivery of impactful programs and special events for a non-profit organization in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can balance logistics, stakeholder coordination, and audience engagement while ensuring each event runs smoothly from concept through completion. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage event data, oversee vendors and on-site operations, and help create meaningful experiences that strengthen community connections and organizational visibility.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute a range of events, including community programs, fundraising galas, and other mission-focused gatherings.
• Coordinate event timelines, budgets, venues, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep projects on track and aligned with objectives.
• Manage attendee information, event records, and reporting data to support planning, follow-up, and performance evaluation.
• Partner with community representatives, sponsors, and organizational teams to drive participation and strengthen engagement.
• Oversee on-site event operations, troubleshoot issues in real time, and maintain a high-quality experience for guests and participants.
• Support event communications, registration processes, and post-event analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and incident reporting practices are followed during event planning and execution when applicable.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing events from initial planning through day-of execution and post-event review.
• Background supporting community engagement initiatives, public programs, or nonprofit events is strongly preferred.
• Experience coordinating large-scale functions such as galas, donor events, or community-based gatherings.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, logistics, budgets, and multiple priorities at once.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate event data, tracking attendance, and preparing event-related reports.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for working with vendors, sponsors, community partners, and internal teams.
• Ability to respond calmly to unexpected issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced event environment.

Compensation

$31.66-$36.66 Hourly
