Senior Director, Embedded Systems
Responsibilities:
• Lead embedded hardware engineering efforts from early concept planning through integration, qualification, and release to production.
• Direct and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams, setting technical priorities and aligning execution with business and program goals.
• Define system architectures for rugged embedded platforms that incorporate processors, accelerators, programmable logic, and high-speed connectivity.
• Oversee design reviews, verification planning, and test strategies to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance requirements are achieved.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners to translate mission needs into practical technical solutions.
• Guide the creation and review of technical documentation such as interface definitions, architecture packages, wiring information, and detailed specifications.
• Support laboratory evaluation and automated test initiatives by promoting effective use of simulation tools, instrumentation, and validation methodologies.
• Drive continuous improvement across development practices, including configuration management, software tool usage, and cross-functional engineering coordination.
Qualifications:
• At least 15 years of experience designing and developing embedded hardware systems.• Minimum of 5 years leading engineering organizations or product development teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Strong command of the end-to-end hardware development process, including design, system integration, testing, qualification, and manufacturing support.
• Proven background building rugged embedded hardware for aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries.
• Deep knowledge of embedded computing architectures involving CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and high-speed interfaces.
• Experience working with embedded Linux environments, development toolchains, version control platforms, and hardware design or simulation tools.
• Ability to produce and interpret interface control documents, system architecture materials, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications while communicating effectively with technical and executive audiences.
Compensation
