Finance Manager
We are looking for a Finance Manager to provide steady leadership and hands-on support during a Long-term Contract assignment in Westborough, Massachusetts. This role will help maintain the continuity of day-to-day finance operations while the organization conducts a search for a permanent leader. The selected candidate will guide core accounting activities, support key team members, and strengthen documentation and workflow consistency across the department.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily finance and accounting activities to ensure accurate, timely execution of departmental priorities.
• Provide oversight and practical support to accounts payable and payroll staff, stepping in when additional assistance is needed.
• Lead month-end close tasks, including review of financial activity and preparation of journal entries.
• Evaluate existing workflows and introduce process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and control.
• Create, refine, and maintain standard operating procedures to support consistent execution of finance processes.
• Monitor transactional work for completeness and compliance with internal standards and established deadlines.
• Use the organization’s financial systems and tools to manage reporting, documentation, and routine accounting operations.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to address finance-related questions and maintain continuity during the contract period.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience managing finance or accounting operations in a leadership or supervisory capacity.• Strong knowledge of month-end close activities, including account review and financial reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
• Proven ability to develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with supporting accounts payable and payroll functions in a fast-paced business environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance strategic oversight and day-to-day execution.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Compensation
