Associate Director Finance/29/FIN147

We are looking for an experienced finance specialist to join a long-term contract opportunity supporting a health insurance organization in Minnesota. This role will focus on strengthening forecasting, reporting, and month-end close activities while building more consistent and scalable financial processes. The position works closely with finance leadership and operational partners to deliver clear analysis, improve reporting quality, and provide decision-ready materials for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Redesign forecasting and close-related templates to establish efficient, repeatable workflows across finance activities.
• Build, update, and manage financial models along with recurring monthly profit and loss reporting.
• Prepare executive-facing close packages and supporting presentations that clearly summarize results and key financial drivers.
• Evaluate actual results against forecasts, identify meaningful variances, and communicate concise insights to leadership.
• Support recurring close and forecast review sessions with finance partners and operational stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business teams to assess performance trends, discuss results, and highlight risks or opportunities.
• Contribute to enhancements in general ledger reporting structures to improve accuracy and usability of financial information.
• Work closely with the finance team to streamline reporting processes and strengthen consistency across deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated background in finance, financial planning, or related analytical functions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building complex models and reporting tools.
• Experience developing forecast models and producing recurring monthly financial reporting packages.
• Strong capability in variance analysis with the ability to explain underlying business and financial drivers.
• Proven experience creating close materials and executive-level reporting for senior leadership audiences.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner across finance and business teams.
• Ability to work independently while managing reporting cycles, forecasting activities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Healthcare or pharmacy-related finance experience, including exposure to tools such as Essbase or SmartView, is preferred.

Compensation

$50.00-$70.00 Hourly
