Sr. Accountant - Financial Reporting/SEC

We are looking for an experienced accounting specialist to support external reporting and technical accounting activities for a retail organization based in Irving, Texas. This role will play a key part in preparing accurate regulatory filings, strengthening reporting processes, and delivering financial insights to leadership and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience with SEC reporting, and the ability to work effectively across audit, finance, and business teams.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual external reporting materials, including required filings and related supporting schedules, to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

• Validate financial information included in investor-facing presentations and related materials by reconciling figures to underlying records and disclosures.

• Contribute to readiness efforts for public company reporting, including drafting registration-related documents, coordinating audit support, and improving internal controls.

• Partner with external auditors throughout audit and review cycles to facilitate timely completion of procedures and submission deadlines.

• Build and maintain management reporting packages for executive leaders and private equity stakeholders, delivering clear and reliable financial information.

• Research accounting guidance for complex or infrequent transactions, document conclusions, and assist with updates to accounting policies and reporting practices.

• Support the completion of quarterly and annual disclosure checklists and maintain organized documentation for reporting requirements.

• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting activities, strengthen compliance, and introduce automation within financial reporting workflows.

• Maintain reporting calendars, status trackers, and procedural documentation to help the team meet critical deadlines and support cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience in a related field.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, with exposure to financial reporting and regulatory filing requirements.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards, with the ability to apply guidance in practice.
• CPA designation or active progress toward certification strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including the ability to prepare detailed schedules, analyses, and reporting documents.
• Experience with general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Background in pre-IPO environments or public-company readiness activities is highly valued.
• Prior experience with a large international public accounting firm, especially Big 4, is strongly preferred.
