Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented part-time Bookkeeper to support financial operations for a retail organization in Asheville. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing core accounting activities with accuracy and consistency. The role will focus on maintaining reliable financial records, processing transactions, and helping ensure smooth month-to-month bookkeeping operations.

Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain financial transactions in QuickBooks with a high level of accuracy and organization.

• Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and keep accounts payable activities current and properly documented.

• Create and issue customer invoices, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances.

• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis to confirm that financial records align with account activity.

• Review bookkeeping entries for completeness and correct discrepancies to support accurate reporting.

• Assist with routine financial record maintenance and provide organized documentation for internal review or accounting support.

• Support updates to bookkeeping workflows or financial tracking processes when needed as part of operational changes.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of bookkeeping experience.

• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online for daily accounting activities.

• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Experience completing bank reconciliations accurately and on schedule.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage financial data with precision.

• Ability to organize tasks effectively and meet recurring deadlines.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills in a work environment.
