HR Generalist - 2nd Shift
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a dynamic manufacturing and operations environment during second shift hours. This role will serve as the primary HR resource for employees and supervisors on the shift, providing support in employee relations, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, policy administration, compliance, and HR programs. The ideal candidate is hands-on, approachable, and comfortable working independently while partnering closely with operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for second-shift employees and managers.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, attendance issues, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct investigations and assist with corrective action and performance management processes.
- Support recruiting efforts by coordinating interviews, facilitating hiring activities, and assisting with onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Administer company policies, procedures, and HR programs consistently across the workforce.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to address staffing needs, employee development, and retention initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations.
- Assist with benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, and employee inquiries.
- Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and communication initiatives.
- Prepare HR reports, maintain data accuracy, and assist with audits as needed.
- Collaborate with the first-shift HR team to ensure seamless communication and continuity of HR support.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling sensitive employee matters.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing or production facility experience.
- Multi-shift workforce support.
- Experience with employee engagement and retention programs.
- Familiarity with payroll, leave administration, and HR compliance reporting.
Compensation
