Property Accountant

The Property Accountant is responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting activities for assigned real estate properties or portfolios. This role typically supports monthly close, reconciliations, budgeting, tenant-related accounting, and financial statement preparation while working closely with property management, operations, and corporate accounting teams. Based on general knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned properties. Based on general knowledge.
• Record journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger activity. Based on general knowledge.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and tenant ledgers. Based on general knowledge.
• Review and track accounts payable, accounts receivable, and operating expenses for properties. Based on general knowledge.
• Assist with CAM reconciliations, rent rolls, lease administration support, and tenant billing. Based on general knowledge.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for property performance. Based on general knowledge.
• Coordinate with property managers to review financial results and resolve discrepancies. Based on general knowledge.
• Assist with audit requests, year-end workpapers, and compliance reporting. Based on general knowledge.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of property accounting, general ledger, or real estate accounting experience preferred. Based on general knowledge.
• Familiarity with lease terms, tenant accounting, and property management systems preferred. Based on general knowledge.
• Strong Excel, reconciliation, and financial reporting skills. Based on general knowledge.
