HOA Manager

Compensation: $25 to $35 Hourly

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized HOA Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, financial management, and community relations of a residential homeowners association. This role is responsible for ensuring the association operates efficiently, remains in compliance with governing documents and applicable laws, maintains high community standards, and delivers excellent service to homeowners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of community operations, including common area maintenance, landscaping, amenities, and vendor coordination.
  • Enforce CC& Rs, rules and regulations, and architectural guidelines fairly and consistently; handle violation notices, hearings, and follow-up.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, monitor financial performance, process invoices, and work with the board on reserve studies and long-term capital planning.
  • Coordinate board meetings, prepare agendas, board packets, and minutes; support board decision-making and implementation of board directives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners—responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and fostering positive community relations.
  • Oversee vendor contracts (landscaping, pool, security, janitorial, etc.), solicit bids, negotiate terms, and ensure quality performance.
  • Manage insurance claims, risk management, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (including Davis-Stirling Act requirements in California).
  • Maintain accurate records, association documents, and owner files; ensure timely distribution of required notices and disclosures.
  • Support special projects such as capital improvements, community events, and policy updates.
  • Collaborate with property management company leadership and legal counsel as needed.



Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in homeowners association (HOA) or community association management.
  • Strong knowledge of HOA governance, financial management, and California association law (Davis-Stirling Act preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Buildium, Vantaca, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and customer service orientation.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings for board meetings and community events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAM, CMCA, AMS, or PCAM certification (or active pursuit of certification).
  • Experience managing mid-to-large sized associations or multiple properties.
  • Background in property management, real estate, or related field.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.



Compensation

$25.00-$35.00 Hourly
