Staff or Sr. Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting specialist to join a 13-week contract assignment supporting the finance team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This position will provide coverage during a leave of absence and play an important role in keeping daily accounting activities on track. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with core accounting processes, works accurately under deadlines, and collaborates effectively with accounting leadership. Responsibilities:
• Record financial activity by preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate support for each transaction.
• Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts to ensure the general ledger remains complete and reliable.
• Contribute to month-end close activities by reviewing accounts, resolving discrepancies, and helping finalize reporting.
• Assist in producing financial reports and examining fluctuations to identify and explain variances.
• Maintain organized accounting files and documentation to support compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls.
• Provide day-to-day assistance across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other operational accounting tasks as business needs require.
• Partner with finance leadership on additional assignments and short-term projects tied to departmental priorities.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant capacity.• Working knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation practices.
• Experience preparing journal entries and completing bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software used for daily financial operations.
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an office environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation
