General Purpose
Provides superior account and community management to PacifiCorp’s key community, commercial, and industrial customers. Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned communities and accounts, acting as the local executive presence to advance business development opportunities, support political and regulatory strategies, and enhance the company’s reputation. This role functions as the principal relationship manager with executive-level counterparts, leading initiatives that promote strategic growth, strengthen community partnerships, and effectively resolve complex regional issues.
Responsibilities
- Promote a customer first culture and commit to delivering outstanding results for customers.
- Manage relationships with City and County elected officials, community-based organizations, business associations, tribal government, other key community contacts and large commercial/industrial account contacts.
- Build and maintain high-impact relationships with organizations and influential stakeholders to support on-the-ground advocacy, advance state legislative priorities, and drive alignment with company objectives.
- Provide exceptional customer service to communities, which includes participating in city council, county, business association and rotary meetings, for example.
- Establish and maintain governmental and community relationships to facilitate the permitting process and resolution of business unit issues affecting communities (i.e. pole relocations, rights of way, conservation easements, tree trimming, etc.)
- Participate as a member of selected civic and economic development organizations to stay abreast of community issues and provide information to the public regarding company policies/programs/offerings.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction ratings from key contacts with assigned customers.
- Inform communities of company initiatives by delivering key messages and giving presentations to local organizations as appropriate.
- Negotiate franchise ordinances.
- Manage the company's involvement in community events that support company objectives.
- Establish business relationships through account management with assigned customers. This will include commercial, industrial and government accounts.
- Drive continued load growth and economic development at a regional level.
- Lead regional engagement in regulatory and governmental affairs activities to support and sustain business development opportunities.
- Manage direct engagement with key regional stakeholders regarding seasonal operational practices; coordinate closely with emergency management and operations teams to support planning and response during operational (wildfire, outage) events.
- Manage assigned key accounts to include development of account management strategy and corporate account plans
- Utilize project management, teamwork and leadership skills to communicate in a manner that will effectively leverage corporate resources and competencies.
- Identify and manage the customer and PacifiCorp relationship development with a wide range of decision-makers in the customer organizations, i.e., account management, legal, production, operations, transmission, energy supply management, resource development, engineering, finance, and other function areas as identified.
- Lead cross-functional teams across business units to resolve complex customer issues, fostering accountability, alignment, and decisive action to deliver timely, high-impact results.
- Manage company’s philanthropic, sponsorship and membership activities for assigned communities,
- Function as local media and public relations contact as needed.
- Host customer and community events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Communications, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in account or community management.
- Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, execute policy, monitor resources, and manage the development or implementation of a system, program or process.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
- Leadership and teamwork skills to provide input into policy decisions and to mobilize resources to produce desired business results.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation and persuasion skills to address customer concerns and deliver solutions that enhance PacifiCorp’s reputation as a responsive, customer-focused partner, fostering long-term support and strategic partnerships.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication capacity to communicate objectives and action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes across a range of environments, including customer relationships, community partnerships, and political or regulatory settings, to achieve mutually beneficial results aligned with company objectives.
- Experience in and ability to work fluently with government officials at county and city level.
- Working knowledge of electric system operations, electric principals, regulation, tariffs and billings, and political environment on state and community levels.
- Demonstrated project management, teamwork and leadership skills to produce desired business results.
- Ability to communicate company’s strategic plan, objectives for specific area, as well as company policies, procedures, and practices and federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Experience with community relations and processes
- Ability to work with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes.
- Strong computer skills including the use MS Word, Excel and Power Point as well as ability to learn and use legacy systems.
Preference:
- Prior experience in the energy industry.

Hiring Range: $117,400.00 -$161,370.00 annually
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15% of salary.
