Overview

Perform diagnostic evaluations, skilled maintenance and repairs on the most complex equipment and parts in the Department of Film & Television, Tisch School of the Arts. Serve as a resource to junior technical support staff in the maintenance and repair of equipment and assist with training. Oversee daily operations for assigned area of operation including coordinating work schedules. Prepare and conduct technical seminars, workshops, and individual training for students, faculty and staff on proper use of equipment. Consult with students and faculty on a variety of production needs including instruct on operation of analog and digital equipment. Maintain facility inventory and ensure security.

Responsibilities

Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Relevant certification

Required Experience:
3+ years providing customer support in an academic and/or production-related environment. Experience in an equipment repair facility.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of/ability to repair wide variety of equipment. Skilled at troubleshooting. Skill level for operating and repairing equipment is so advanced that this position is seen as a technical resource to other staff members. Ability to train others to use equipment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to operate and repair media and sound equipment such as Avid and ProTools.


Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $42.098. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
