Randolph Electric Membership Corporation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Specialist to join our Engineering team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to use GIS technology, data analysis, and creative problem-solving to support the reliability of our electric distribution system and make a meaningful difference for our employees and members. What You Will Do
- Collect, organize, and maintain geographic data from GPS, satellite imagery, field surveys, staking sheets, and other sources.
- Review and post staking sheet information and update the electric distribution model to reflect construction, maintenance, equipment, and system changes.
- Analyze spatial relationships, trends, and patterns to support system planning, daily operations, and emergency response.
- Create accurate and informative digital maps, models, reports, and geographic products for employees and field personnel.
- Maintain GIS records for electric distribution assets and verify system connectivity, phasing, equipment information, and asset locations.
- Write and maintain scripts that automate mapping tasks, integrate data, and improve GIS workflows.
- Develop and maintain integrations between GIS and other Cooperative software platforms.
- Perform quality reviews, identify data discrepancies, and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and field personnel to research and correct information.
- Assist employees with GIS software, database navigation, mobile mapping applications, and geographic data inquiries.
- Maintain GIS procedures, system documentation, data standards, and user instructions.
- Provide GIS support during outages, emergencies, and other operational events as needed.
What You Will BringA bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and two to five years of relevant GIS experience are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Electric utility GIS experience is preferred. Candidates should have advanced proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, GIS databases, and mobile data collection applications. Working knowledge of SQL, Python, ArcPy, Microsoft 365, and software integrations is preferred.
