Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a remote team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating key close activities, and helping ensure dependable day-to-day accounting processes across the organization. The position works closely with finance and cross-functional partners to strengthen controls, support reporting needs, and improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including coding invoices, routing approvals, maintaining vendor information, and issuing electronic payments.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, and keep assigned general ledger activity accurate and well-supported.
• Contribute to monthly and year-end close by reviewing transactions, resolving variances, and organizing documentation for financial reporting.
• Administer semi-monthly payroll through an external provider, verify payroll results, and support related benefit contribution reconciliations.
• Maintain inventory-related accounting records, review adjustments, and assist with investigating discrepancies tied to stock activity and costing.
• Monitor cash activity, support deposit and payment processing as needed, and help maintain orderly financial records in line with retention standards.
• Assist with audit preparation by compiling schedules, responding to documentation requests, and supporting compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Partner with operations, warehouse, and fulfillment teams to address accounting issues, fulfill reporting requests, and improve workflow documentation.
• Support accounting system testing, user adoption, and related process enhancements connected to organizational finance tools.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.• Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, accrual-based accounting, and month-end close procedures.
• Experience handling accounts payable and completing account reconciliations with strong attention to accuracy.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and reviewing payroll-related reports and supporting records.
• Exposure to audit support activities, including preparing schedules and maintaining organized financial documentation.
• Experience with accounting platforms such as Acumatica and Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Compensation
