Technical Accounting Manager

New York, NY 10017, US Remote Temporary
Compensation: $100 to $135 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced Technical Accounting Manager to support a growing fintech organization on a Contract basis. This role will provide high-level accounting guidance across complex areas including entity structure, financial statement consolidation, and audit readiness to help present clear, investor-focused reporting. The position offers flexible, part-time engagement and will play an important role in strengthening accounting policies, supporting compliance obligations, and preparing the business for future capital activities.


Responsibilities:

• Advise leadership on accounting considerations related to legal entity structure and the consolidation of financial results across affiliated entities.

• Develop clear technical accounting positions and prepare formal policy documents and memos to support key judgments and conclusions.

• Provide subject matter expertise in complex accounting areas such as allowance for loan losses, lease accounting, revenue recognition, and equity-based compensation.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve the quality and transparency of financial reporting for investors, lenders, and other external parties.

• Support the organization’s preparation for annual audited financial statements by identifying gaps, recommending solutions, and strengthening documentation.

• Assess accounting implications tied to debt covenant compliance and help ensure reporting practices align with external obligations.

• Review existing policies and procedures related to lending and financial reporting, and recommend enhancements that support consistency and control.

• Offer ongoing fractional accounting leadership as needed, delivering practical guidance on technical matters in a fast-growing environment.


Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in technical accounting, with a strong background in complex financial reporting matters.
• Active CPA designation required.
• Demonstrated experience supporting financial statement audits and annual audited financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Experience drafting accounting policies, technical memos, and procedure documentation.
• Familiarity with lending-related accounting considerations, including allowance methodologies and policy interpretation.
• Ability to assess legal entity structures and apply appropriate consolidation guidance in a dynamic business environment.

Compensation

$100.00-$135.00 Hourly
