Accounting Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Record and apply incoming payments from two online sales channels, ensuring customer accounts remain current and accurate.
• Review returned merchandise, credits, and related invoices to confirm balances are correct and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
• Assist with investigating billing questions and payment disputes, working with the Accounts Receivable team to reach timely resolution.
• Contribute to month-end accounting tasks by preparing receivables-related updates and supporting reporting tied to online sales activity.
• Enter accounts payable transactions for freight, duties, inland transportation, and brokerage charges with careful attention to coding and accuracy.
• Assign landed and related costs appropriately so inventory and product records reflect complete and accurate expenses.
• Handle e-commerce return activity by issuing credits to the correct customer accounts and updating related documentation.
• Process manually authorized credit card payments for non-standard orders and ensure each transaction is properly documented.
• Coordinate follow-up on undeliverable online orders and work with warehouse and customer-facing teams to manage returned items and account updates.
• Maintain organized records of transactions, correspondence, and account activity while collaborating across Accounting, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
• Experience supporting both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions in a fast-paced business environment.• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and confidence entering financial data with a high level of accuracy.
• Background in invoice processing, payment application, and account reconciliation.
• Strong data entry skills with close attention to detail and recordkeeping accuracy.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and communicate clearly with internal teams regarding payment or order issues.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities, including customer credits, returns, and vendor-related cost entries.
• Proficiency in basic accounting processes and month-end support activities.
Compensation
