Estate Planning Paralegal for Growing Law Firm in Indy!
Responsibilities:
• Prepare estate planning materials such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, deeds, and other related legal documents.
• Support probate, guardianship, and trust administration matters by assisting with case progression from initial filing through final resolution.
• Draft, review, and submit pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, and other court-related documents with accuracy and timeliness.
• Communicate with clients, courts, financial institutions, and government agencies to obtain information, provide updates, and facilitate next steps.
• Collect, organize, and maintain asset and case information to support estate and trust matters effectively.
• Track key dates, filing deadlines, and case activity to help ensure matters remain on schedule and properly documented.
• Coordinate signature collection, notarization, correspondence, and execution of legal documents.
• Assist with property transfer documentation, beneficiary updates, trust funding activities, and time entry as needed.
Qualifications:
• Prior paralegal experience supporting estate planning, probate, trust administration, or guardianship matters.
• Working knowledge of legal document preparation related to wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, and healthcare directives.
• Experience preparing court filings and managing documentation throughout probate-related proceedings.
• Proficiency with case management software and the ability to maintain organized electronic and physical files.
• Active Notary Public commission or the ability to obtain one promptly.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and third parties.
