Accounting Manager | Private Equity

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is partnering with a global private equity firm that is expanding its finance team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking to transition from public accounting into investment accounting while joining a highly respected firm known for its collaborative culture, career development, and long-term growth opportunities.

 

If you're currently in public accounting at the Manager or Senior Manager level and interested in moving in-house, this firm provides the training, mentorship, and exposure needed to build a successful career in private equity finance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the firm's general ledger structure and fund financial reporting.
  • Review quarterly and annual fund financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Partner with internal leadership and external service providers to ensure timely completion of audits and tax filings.
  • Research and resolve technical accounting and tax matters.
  • Monitor fund cash activity and forecast future cash requirements.
  • Review capital calls and distributions to limited partners.
  • Review capital activity related to underlying portfolio investments.
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate across the finance team to support departmental initiatives and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiencies, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Respond to investor inquiries and prepare financial reports and ad hoc requests.
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting transactions and mentor junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of audit and/or fund accounting experience.
  • Open to candidates coming directly from public accounting at the Manager or Senior Manager level.
  • CPA required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong academic background is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing junior team members.

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $150,000-$180,000
